You can specify default publication settings to use for each publication type. If you want to use different settings for a specific publication, you can create custom settings for that publication based on the publication type. To use custom settings, the default publication settings has to be turned off for the publication. The available custom settings for a publication are the same as the default publication settings for the corresponding publication type.

- From the Editor, open the new template.
- Click the Publications tab.
- Select the publication for which you want to specify custom settings under Manage All Publications in the task pane.
- Note the Type field in the Formats area.
- Select Custom Settings under the publication in the task pane.
NOTE: If Custom Settings does not display, make sure Use default publication settings is not selected for the publication.
- Choose one of the options below based on the Type field from step 4.
