Refer to Using Author Templates in the companion manual Managing Content for more information.
- From the Editor, open the new template.
- Click the Publications tab.
- Select Student Guide under Default Publication Settings in the task pane.
- Complete the following fields:

Mirror Margins Select this option to create booklet-style, double-sided pages for output.
Publish table of contents
Select this option to create a table of contents for output.
Display section titles in the table of contents
Select this option to display the section titles in inserted content in the published output.
NOTE: This option is only available if Publish table of contents is selected.
Display course cover pages
Select this option to display the course cover page in the published output.
Margins
- Specify Top, Bottom, Left, and Right margins.
- Select the Unit of measurement in the drop-down list.
Page Size
- Select a page size from the Common Sizes drop-down list.
- Specify a Height and Width.
NOTE: These will populate automatically unless you select Custom in the Common Sizes drop-down list.
- Select the Unit of measurement in the drop-down list.
- Perform any of the following options in the Styles area:

Add a style to the table of contents
- Click Add.
- Select the style you want to add.
- Click OK.
Delete a style from the table of contents
- Select the style you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
- Click Yes.
Change the order the style will appear in the table of contents
- Select the style you want to move.
- Click the Move Up and Move Down buttons to change the sequence.
- Perform any of the following options to modify phrases for the selected publication:

Add a custom phrase to use for the table of contents title
- Click Select Phrase.
- Click Add....
- Select a language from the left.
- Enter the text in the Content field.
- Click OK.
Select a phrase to use for the table of contents title
- Click Select Phrase.
- Select a Language from the drop-down list.
- Select a Phrase from the listbox.
NOTE: You can also enter text into the Phrases field to perform a search.
- Click OK.
- Select to save the template.
- Perform the following as necessary:

Display the title instead of the filename in the table of contents
NOTE: This is a manual process and is not part of the user interface.
- Locate your current uPerform resources directory. (Example: ).
- Open the configuration/application.settings file.
- Set the property UseTitleInTheTOC to true.
- Save and close the file.
NOTE: When you open the student guide and preview the table of contents or publish the student guide, the title displays instead of the filename.
