Working with Help Usage Statistics

Activating and Deactivating Statistics Capture for the Entire System

1. Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
2. Perform one of the following:

   If You Want To	Then
   Activate statistics capture for the entire system	1. Select the Capture Statistics checkbox. 2. Go to Step 3.
   Deactivate statistics capture for the entire system	1. Deselect the Capture Statistics checkbox. 2. Go to Step 4.

3. Optionally, select the with userid checkbox.

   NOTE:

   Clicking this checkbox will add the username to the collected statistics record. If legal requirements prevent your collecting this information, do not check this box.

4. Click System Setup Settings.
5. Click OK.

Activating and Deactivating Statistics Capture for a Server

1. Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
2. Click Server Setup.
3. Toggle the button below Work with individual servers to display uPerform.
4. Click .
5. Select the name of the desired help server.
6. Click .
7. Click Display/Change Server.
8. Perform one of the following:

   If You Want To	Then
   Activate statistics capturing for a server	Select the radio button in the Yes column to the right of Capture Statistics.
   Deactivate statistics capturing for a server	Select the radio button in the No column to the right of Capture Statistics.

9. Click Save Settings.
10. Click .

Create a Statistics Graph

Statistics capturing must be activated. Refer to Working with Help Usages Statistic and Activating and Deactivating Statistics Capture for a Server for more information.

The SAP graphing method available via the SAP Business Graphics window can graph up to 33 different objects. If your selected criteria exceed this number, an error message will be displayed. In this case, you can download the statistics for manipulation in an external graphing system or reduce the number of objects by specifying additional filters. Refer to “Downloading the Statistics Tables” on page 293 for information on the download process.

Exported statistics results are useful if you want to import the results into Microsoft Excel for analysis and graphing.

1. Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
2. Click Statistics.

   NOTE:

   The Statistical Snapshot portion of the screen enables you to quickly display a list or graph of pertinent information.The No-Help Quick Content, Infopak Help Count, and Total Help Count functionalities are not available in uPerform. To view a list of transactions for which help was requested, click uPerform Help Count.

3. Click Graph Statistics.
4. Perform one of the following:

   If You Want To	Then
   Graph the number of help requests by transaction	Select Transaction, and go to Step 6.
   Graph the number of help requests by server	Toggle the button to display the desired server type uPerform, and go to Step 6.
   Graph the number of help requests by user name	Select User Name, and go to Step 6.
   Graph the number of help request by no_help_available	Select No Help Transactions, and go to Step 6.
   Specify additional criteria to filter the graphed information	Go to Step 5.

5. As required, complete/review the following fields:
   

   Field	Description
   uPerform	Description of the help server Example: New Help Server
   Transaction	Transaction code Example: VA01
   User Name	Name of the user Example: jdoe
   Start date	Start date from which to begin filtering records
   End date	End date to stop filtering records

6. Select the alternate tab.
7. Perform one or more of the following options:
   

   If You Want To	Then
   Set the year	Click year.
   Set the month	Click month.
   Select all transactions	Click the all available tcodes radio button.
   Select specific transactions	Click the magnifying glass icon to the right of select tcodes and select the transaction(s).
   View a 2D transaction graph	Click graph 2D.

8. Select the Graph Type tab.
9. Enter a name for the graph in the Title field.
10. Perform one or more of the following options:
    

    If You Want To	Then
    Set the graph type	Select one of the following types: Pie Chart Vertical Bars Perspective Bars Horizontal Bars
    Set the screen position of the displayed graph	Select Upper Right or Upper Left.
    Set the screen size of the displayed graph	Enter percentages in the width (%) and height (%) fields.
    Include a graph title	Click the Check for dynamic graph title check box.

11. Perform one or more of the following options:
    

    If You Want To	Then
    Print the displayed graph	1. Select GRAPHIC > PRINT. 2. Specify a print destination
    Exit the SAP Business Graphics window	Select GRAPHIC > EXIT.

Exporting Statistics Results

1. Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
2. Click Statistics.
3. Click Graph statistics.
4. Perform one or more of the following options:
   

   If You Want To	Then
   Export the number of help requests by transaction	Select Transaction, and go to Step 6.
   Export the number of help requests by server	Toggle the button to display the desired server type: uPerform, and go to Step 6.
   Export the number of help requests by user name	Select User Name, and go to Step 6.
   Export the number of help requests by no_help_available	Select No Help Transactions, and go to Step 6.
   Specify additional criteria to filter the graphed information	Go to Step 5.

5. As required, complete/review the following fields:
   

   Field	Description
   uPerform	Description of the help server Example: New Help Server
   Transaction	Transaction code Example: VA01
   User Name	Name of the user Example: jdoe
   Start date	Start date from which to begin filtering records
   End date	End date to stop filtering records

   NOTE:

   If you export the results to disk, the file is downloaded to the C: drive. If you export the results to Microsoft Excel, the Excel application is opened and the results are displayed.

6. Click Stats to Disk or Stats to EXCEL.

Reviewing Additional Statistics Information

1. Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
2. Click Statistics.
3. Click the More Info tab.
4. Perform one or more of the following options:
   

   If You Want To	Then
   Display those transactions which have help available but this help has not been requested	Click Help with no statistics to review the list of transactions.
   Display, and potentially delete, servers that no longer exist in the system but have associated statistical records	1. Click Deleted servers in statistics. 2. Review the list of servers and, as desired, mark the server(s) for deletion.
   Display a list of servers that do not have statistics.	Click Servers with Statistics off - Count.

Downloading the Statistics Tables

1. Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
2. Click Statistics.
3. Select the File work tab.
4. Click Backup file.

   NOTE:

   The file is downloaded to the C: drive. The filename format is stats_bkup_yearmonthdate_time.txt.

5. Click .

Clearing the Statistics Table

1. Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
2. Click Statistics.
3. Select the File work tab.
4. Choose from the following options:
   

   If You Want To	Then
   Clear the table	Click Clear Table, and go to Step 5.
   Clear or save a file by year	Click Clear/Save File by Year, and go to Step 6.
   Restore a cleared or saved file by year	Click Restore File, and go to Step 10.

5. Click to complete the function.
6. Double-click on the year.
7. Click Continue.
8. Click .
9. Click OK to complete the function.
10. Click Proceed.
11. Navigate to the file.
12. Click Open.
13. Click Continue to complete the function.
