Refer to “Customizing the FUNCTION NAVIGATION_EXECUTE_OBJECT_HELP Function” for information on the SAP customizations required to enable this functionality.
When enabled, the auto notification option informs users when help content has been updated. If a user accesses a transaction that has updated content available, a standard message is displayed indicating that the selected transaction has new content. The detection of updated content is performed by the uPerform content verification process and is passed to Help Launchpad during the fp_upload.txt processing. Refer to “Controlling the Messages Sent” for information on configuring the display of the auto notification messages.
There are two basic steps to enabling auto notification:
- Activate auto notifications for the SAP system.
- Ensure auto notification is activated for a designated server(s). This option is activated by default for a server.
NOTE:
Auto notification functionality is not available for SAP HTML GUI users.
Activating and Deactivating Notifications in the System
- Start the transaction using transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
- Click the Alerts etc. tab.
- Select the Auto Notification checkbox.
- Click Notifications.
- Ensure Auto Notification active displays.
- Click .
- Enter the transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
- Click System Setup Settings.
NOTE:
Ensure auto notification is activated for the designated server(s). This option is
displayed on the Basic Info tab for a server and is activated by default when the
server is initially created. - Click OK.
Modifying the Notification Message and Displaying Notifications in the System

- Start the transaction using the transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
- Click the Alerts etc. tab.
- Click Notifications.
- Click Auto Maintenance.
- Select one of the following options:

Modify the standard auto notification
message- As desired, click Select Icon to select the
icon to be associated with this notification. - Click Save Note.
- Click to confirm use of the new message.
- Refer to “Creating, Displaying, and Editing a Message or Note” for information on adding a Stop button and/or website URL to this notification.
- To view the standard auto notification message delivered with Help Launchpad, click Standard Message.
Prevent any further display of the
message to a user if the user displays
the changed document- Click Stop on show.
Display notifications in the system
- As desired, click Select Icon to select the
- Enter an * in the tcode field.
- Click Edit.
- Click Show All to scroll through all existing notifications in the system.
Displaying Timestamp Information for a Transaction
- Start the transaction using the transaction code /n/RWD/ZF0.
- Click Transaction Setup.
- On the Work with Tcodes tab, complete the following field:

Reviewing and Deleting Notifications

- Click the Alerts etc. tab.

- Click to the right of Msg ID.
- Select the message you want to delete.

- Click .
